Why do you teach at SPINCO?
When I was a teen, I lost my mom to cancer. Losing my biggest cheerleader taught me to look inward for my resilience – I found that through spinning.  I teach at SPINCO with the hopes of helping others to have the transformative experience of finding their inner strength – both mentally and physically. There is nothing more empowering in the world than becoming your own superhero – trust me, it is in you.

What motivates you to get on the bike every class?
For me, there is no better feeling than being part of something that is bigger than myself. Every time I go to SPINCO, I get that incredible feeling. The SPINCO community is what gets me on the bike! Oh, and the flashing lights, disco ball, and adrenaline-pumping music help too!

What do you want your riders to get/feel from your class?
I want my riders to feel on top of the world! Do you know that euphoric feeling of doing something that you did not think you were capable of doing? Maybe running faster than you thought you could? Managing to get through a hard day? Finishing a difficult task at school or work? That feeling of accomplishment – however big or small – is how I want my riders to feel during my class.

What is your favourite type of music to ride to?
The harder the beat the better: EDM and rap fire me up the most!

Quote to live by:
We can all be our own toughest critics. I think it is important to remember to, “Try to treat yourself how you would someone you love.”

Where can you find me off the bike?
Conducting research in the office (unapologetic nerd!), running somewhere in the wilderness, reading in a coffee shop, or playing the oboe in an orchestra!

Favourite day off activity?
I love finding new local stores to support, especially fashion boutiques!

Hidden Talent or something that would surprise riders about you?
I once ran 7 consecutive marathons in 7 days as a fundraiser in memory of my mom. No, my knees have still not quite forgiven me!
